Bryson “Rewards” Local Charities in Recycling Campaign

Leading social enterprise Bryson Recycling has launched this year’s “Recycling Rewards” campaign that aims to boost local recycling and raise much needed funds for charity.

Through this innovative campaign Bryson will donate £1 to charity for every tonne of garden waste collected through their brown bin collection service that they provide on behalf of Conwy County Borough Council.

From the start of December 2020 to the end of September 2021, Bryson have collected over 6550 tonnes of garden waste, meaning they will donate £6550 to charity.

This year they have shortlisted three fantastic local charities and are asking Conwy residents to help them choose how much to donate to each. Their donation to each charity will be based on the number of votes they receive.

The charities are St David’s Hospice, who deliver free, high-quality, specialist care to local people living with life-limiting illnesses; Hope House Children’s Hospice, who provide children’s palliative care ensuring every family facing the death of a child gets the very best care and support when and where they need it and Incredible Edible – who galvanise local communities through growing and celebrating local food.

Gareth Walsh, General Manager at Bryson Recycling said; “Our ‘Recycling Rewards’ campaign is a unique approach to encourage recycling and let us give something back to the local community where we deliver our services. This year we are encouraging local residents to get involved and tell us which charity they would like to support”.

Cllr Greg Robbins, Cabinet Member for Environment and Transportation at Conwy County Borough Council said: “We’re pleased to support the ‘Recycling Rewards’ campaign – it’s good to know that by recycling garden waste, residents are helping local charities as well as being environmentally friendly. The money Bryson Recycling will donate is a significant amount that will really benefit these charities that are making a real difference in our communities.”
