Vote now for  your favourite charity in “Recycling Rewards” campaign

Voting is now open in Bryson Recycling’s  innovative “Recycling Rewards” campaign.  Through this annual campaign, local social enterprise Bryson Recycling donate £1 to charity for every tonne of garden waste collected through their brown bin collection service that they provide on behalf of Conwy County Borough Council.

From the start of October 2023 to the end of September 2024, Bryson collected 8222 tonnes of garden waste, meaning they will donate £8222 to charity. This is the highest donation amount to date since they launched this campaign back in 2020.

Three charities have been shortlisted and Bryson are asking local residents to vote for the charity they would like to support. The donation to each charity will be based on the number of votes they receive.

The charities are Kinmel Bay Community Centre, who provide a safe, welcoming environment and a wide range of activities and events for local residents; Blind Veterans UK, who help vision impaired service men and women rebuild their lives after sight loss and Llanfairfechan Foodbank who are there to help people who are struggling with everyday living costs.

Gareth Walsh, General Manager at Bryson Recycling, said “At Bryson Recycling, we are committed to helping both the environment and the communities in the areas where we provide our services. We are proud to be able to support these fantastic local charities through our “Recycling Rewards” campaign and are delighted with the donation amount this year, which is our highest ever. I would encourage local residents to get involved and vote for the charity that they would like to support”.

Cllr Geoff Stewart, Conwy County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Neighbourhood and the Environment, added “By recycling their garden waste, local residents can benefit the environment at the same time as supporting local charities.  We are keen to get local residents involved in the campaign and would encourage them to tell us which charity they would like to support”.
