£14.54 per hour plus mileage
Job Purpose:
To provide independent advocacy support to service users and carers involved with Children and Family Services and Adult Services across the five Health and Social Care Trusts in Northern Ireland.
The advocacy role will involve providing direct support to adults living with a learning disability and/or mental ill health and their carers, Child Safeguarding issues, Adult Safeguarding issues and Family Childcare Court Arenas throughout Northern Ireland.
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience working in an advocacy role with children
and adults living with a learning disability and/or mental ill
health or within Family Childcare.
- Knowledge and understanding of the issues relating to children
and adults living with a learning disability and/or mental health
- Knowledge and understanding of the principles of advocacy
- Knowledge of relevant legislation including Mental Capacity as
it applies to Northern Ireland and/or the Children (Northern
Ireland) Order 1995.
- Good communication skills both verbal and written.
